Some Japanese macaques out as the sun sets. At first just a couple were out up on the bars, then the whole clan came out. Perhaps they were going to be fed dinner. Whatever the reason they were more active as we went to leave.

The Eurasia show at the calgary zoo is by the river enterance outdoor. The climate of Eurasia and the Climate in Calgary line up enough to allow for this it seems.

How to Choose the Best Method of Learning Japanese

Whether for business or pleasure, many people choose to become fluent in a second language. And learning Japanese as a second language is becoming more and more well loved.

There are many reasons why you may be interested in studying the Japanese language.  Perhaps you want to take a trip to Japan and want to be able to converse easily with those you meet.  Or perhaps you are a business person and realize how vital business relations with Japan are. No matter your reason for learning Japanese, you have made a fantastic choice and will reap the benefits of being fluent in a second language quickly.

Choosing the best learning method is often where the difficulty in learning Japanese comes in. Since there are many different methods for learning a language, it can be hard knowing which is the best route to take.

Some of the options are hiring a private tutor, attending classes at a college, or teaching yourself through textbooks or language software. There are both positives and negatives with all of these methods and since each person’s learning style is different it is up to you to choose which is the best learning method for you.

Many people have found that a combination of self-teaching and help from a tutor is the best way of learning Japanese.  In the last few years interactive language programs have been developed that give you the convenience of self-teaching methods (such as books) and help from a tutor, but at a fraction of the cost. If you choose to go this route, here are a few of the things that you should look for in the program:

Lessons that are based on actual conversations that you will have in Japan.  Learning irrelevant words and phrases is just a waste of time and energy.
The ability to learn proper pronunciation by using the words and phrases in conversation.  A program that lets you hear the language spoken so you can repeat it and know that you are saying it correctly is invaluable.  When learning from a textbook you can never be sure that you are pronouncing the words correctly, which is why it can be so hard (or impossible) to learn solely from a book.  Fortunately, software programs have made learning Japanese pronunciation much simpler.
A program that has several different methods of reviewing the information.  There are a few software programs available that have interactive audio lessons, games, quizzes, and forums.  This variety makes the learning process fun and effective.
A course that lets you “try it before you buy it”.  Some of the programs available today have either free mini-courses which are emailed to you each day, or allow you a certain amount of time to use the product before you buy it.  This is fantastic since it lets you see whether the program fits well with your learning style.  And if a software company gives you time to try out their program before buying it, you will know that they are confident that their product is high-quality.

Now that you know what to look for when choosing a Japanese program, I hope that you will delight in learning Japanese!
