Some of the scenes between Takanosu and Kakunodate on the Akitanairikujukan Railroad. This is undoubtedly one of “the” scenic trips in Japan. I can only imagine how it must look in Autumn. It is the most unspoiled scenery that I have seen outside of Hokkaido. I shot the bulk of it with my Canon G12 as my huge camera could not be set up close to the windscreen and I wanted to avoid reflections. If you ever get to Japan do this trip it’s well worth the cost of the ticket.

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Hiroshima, Japan by TravelPod blogger Hayleybay titled “A day trip to hiroshima” Hayleybay’s travel blog entry: “On Monday 28 April, I went on a day trip to Hiroshima. Well. It was an incredible day. I had read in my lonely planet, that the best way of appproaching the whole atomic bomb thing, was to walk through the city, where it is exactly that, a ciity. There were people everywhere, Mc Donalds, mallls,, smalll shops, more people and it was a bustling japanese city. (This may sound silly, but getting done by an atomic bomb is a huge huge deal, and it was nearly weird that the city existe, being as it had been demolished entirely so recently). I went to a bank fiirst, this bank was one of the only buildiings that remained standing when the bomb exploded above hirooshima. Needlless to say,, everyone inside the buidling died, and i reckon the insiide of the structure was wiped clean, but because it was constructed with cement, the bomb didnt demolish it. In the bank were displays of thousands and thousands (and thousands) of paper cranes. The ppaper crane (origami) is a symbol of peace, which is very vital and poignant (?) foor hirooshima. So i was having a wee look in here when a woman appproached me and finished up somehow getting a photographer to take ppictures of me looking at these cranes. The photographer worked for a newsppapper, so i am allsmot woorld well-known in japan..(i dont know if the picture was ppublished
